Slow Coaching Virtually

What would a typical programme feel like?

Below is a proposed approach to our Virtual Slow Coaching.

Step 1: Understand your capacity and opportunities to get outdoors.

We will develop a programme that fits your surroundings and capacity for travel because it’s no good developing a programme that has you undertaking a 1-hour river walk every day if you live 2 hours from the nearest river! Therefore, to make Slow Coaching become ‘just what you do’, we need to bring it into your daily routine. We will consider detail such as:

  • What green spaces and water are around you?
  • How much time can you spend daily/weekly getting outside for slow coaching?
  • Are there days that are best/worst for Slow Coaching?
  • Who will you be Slow Coaching with?
Step 2: construct a plan

To know how to get to where you are going, you first need to know where you are, so we will take stock of your current capabilities, needs and preferences. From there we can:

  • Understand who we are.
  • Determine a direction of travel.
  • Navigate a path in the right direction.
STEP3: take a SLOW COACHING approach

On a monthly basis, we will set out a plan of action that helps support your development, outside. As well as focussing on the professional development, we will take time to reflect on what activities we immersed ourselves in and what meaning we discovered. We may consider:

  • Why a particular landscape made us think about the strength of our business.
  • How sitting alongside a river made us consider how we can be swept along without really knwoing where we are heading.
  • What is the role of dead wood in a forest, its relevance to your role.

Each session, we will highlight what has worked, review the plan for the next month’s activities, and consolidate our learning and performance.
